World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The feature of upgrading items lets players upgrade their equipment. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Generally upgrades increase an items main stat and can give it extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for caster builds.
Armour
Armour is one of the most important factors that keep Link safe from harm in all situations. Although it cannot be upgraded like weapons, you can improve its defence capabilities in different ways.
The principle of armour is to safeguard the person or animal from physical injury or harm in the form of direct physical attack or from an array of dangers to the environment or activity. In the past, armour was typically made of leather or fabric however later, metal protections were also used, especially in military applications such as heavy cavalry or combat drones.
As with weapons, there are a number of ways in which armor can be upgraded however, most of them will require a visit to one of the four Great Fairy Fountains located throughout Hyrule. Each fountain has its own level of upgrades available, with more granting greater levels of protection, but needing a higher amount of rupees and other materials to unlock.
The first thing you need to know about Armor Upgrades is that they are upgrades that last forever, meaning that after they've been put in place, they are not able to be replaced unless you have another piece of equipment that comes with the same upgrade. It is crucial to only apply the highest grade of upgrades to your equipment and that you have the necessary materials to complete the process.
When it comes to acquiring the upgrade components needed, you'll find them in a variety of places around Hyrule including merchants, shrines, and even enemies. They'll usually be identified with the gold circle or blue triangle symbol, and will be available in large quantities as you advance through the game. Although they can appear randomly, there is an opportunity that acquiring certain upgrade components will result in quests that reward players with more.
It's also worth noting that although the level of protection offered by each upgrade varies, it is the same for all upgrades and will always be superior to nothing. A full set of upgraded armor will give you a strong defense boost that can protect you from any kind of attack including magic. This makes it an effective weapon for all classes.
Weapons
You can upgrade your guns by using special upgrades to make them truly unique. These can increase damage, change the weapon's stats in order to adapt to your build, and even unlock new attachments like unique enchantments, ammo types, and aesthetic options.
You'll need both the upgrade component and the weapon itself to upgrade it. The weapon should be at a minimum of a certain level to upgrade it. Most weapons can only be upgraded by one upgrade.
Weapon upgrade components can be found scattered throughout the world, from the enemy or from merchants. The upgrade components themselves are made up of ingredients that can be put into weapons, armor, trinkets, and gathering tools to give an attribute bonus or extra impact while they're being used. They require the equipment to be of a certain level to accept the upgrade and can be upgraded in the same manner as other items.
The upgrades themselves are a mix of Smithing Stones and Runes, and they can be used to enhance the base stats of a weapon, and also to increase its scalability with other stats. These upgrades can be obtained from enemies in the open world, or from merchants. They are also dropped through combat.
Two NPCs can upgrade your weapon: the Blacksmith Hewg in the Roundtable Hold hub zone and the Smithing Master Iji located in the Road to Manor hub zone. Both of these NPCs will accept your Smithing Stones and Runes in exchange for a more powerful version of the weapon as well as an enhancement.
Prioritize upgrading your best-in slot items first. Then upgrade those that you won't replace soon. If link web page playing a melee build, for instance, upgrade your weapon, then your shoulders and chest before your feet and hands. The same principle goes for Magic and Utility Items, with the caveat that some products may be superior to others, based on your style of play. Armour is no different, with some reforges better than others.
Magic Items
A character can only upgrade one magic item. If an upgrade project is canceled, no further upgrades will be offered for that item. Upgraded magic items cost twice as much gold to create or purchase, but they can offer additional benefits.
A magical item is any item with special properties or effects. The majority of these items are weapons, however some are also armor, shields, cloaks, potions, rings, scrolls and other objects. Certain of these items can be made sentient.
Most magical items can be upgraded to become infused with additional abilities. This makes them more useful to players, or can aid them in overcoming an especially difficult challenge. An infused weapon might provide bonus damage against a particular kind of enemy, for example. This is particularly beneficial for characters that have reached a stage at which they are likely to encounter the same type of monster in dungeons over and over again.
A ring with an infusion could grant protection against piercing, bludgeoning or slashing injuries from nonmagical attacks (not including silvered ones) until the next time the character takes a long rest. This can be particularly helpful for melee fighters, or any character who wishes to avoid the cost and hassle of purchasing shields.
Certain items enchanted by magic have special abilities which allow the character to cast spells in addition to those on the list of spells for their class. This is beneficial for characters who have difficulty filling their spell slots due to multiclassing. These enchanted items generally require an Intelligence (Arcana) check prior to use, and the spell's effectiveness is determined by rolling on a table based on the number of Intelligence points used.
Other items that are enchanted can allow the user to alter their appearance, or even create an entirely new appearance. These can be particularly useful for characters who have had to leave their home, or are in a situation that they aren't welcome. An item that is magical can give them an invisible effect, or perhaps make them invisible to anyone except a chosen person.
Utility Items
Utility items are those that do not fit into the categories of Clothing, Armor or Weapons and have various capabilities. Unlike Armor and Weapons, no one utility item can conflict with another. Most utility items have a passive effect that players can activate by using them. However, some of them have additional abilities that can be activated by pressing a button, or by activating an ability.
The Flashlight is the most popular utilitarian item. It is used to illuminate the surrounding area. Other utilities include the Helicopter Hat and Rocket Boots, which allow players to fly in the air while they move, and the Jetpack which allows players to accelerate in any direction while on the ground. Several utilitarian items can be quickly produced in the Engineering section, while others can be unlocked through research projects or experimental projects in the Proving Ground.
In addition to the items that are available in the standard inventory, players can unlock the most useful items of utility by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop and also from seasonal Scoreboard rewards (such as the Shadow Goggles). Certain of these items can be upgraded to allow greater effectiveness.
The majority of utilitarian items provide the player with an advantage in navigation or boost a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, created by a Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity, while Maintenance Oils, created by an Huntsman will increase concentration and healing power. Other useful items like Writs and Theses made by the Scribe, can be used to give players an increase in damage or condition damage.
XCOM soldiers can equip a single utility item to begin the campaign. A second slot is available once you have completed certain research, engineering, or research projects on the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters downloadable content, additional slots can be obtained by equipping the Grenade Launcher. This permits players to make use of a Smoke Grenade or Bomb while an offensive grenade remains in the main slot.
